The project is musically directed by UK-based trumpet player Quentin Collins, who will be joined by a trio of Dubai’s best jazz musicians.
At the heart of the performance is Palestinian-Canadian artist Banah, known for her modern interpretations of classical Arabic music. Her soulful renditions have earned her millions of views, introducing a new generation to the timeless works of legends like Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Abdel Wahab, and Asmahan.
Blending oriental melodies with rich jazz harmonies, Jazziyat offers a contemporary twist on the region’s musical heritage. It draws on influences from around the Arab world—from Maghreb to Levant— and reshapes them into something fresh, vibrant, and deeply resonant.
Following a sold-out premiere at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room in London, Jazziyat now comes to Dubai for an evening that promises to be nostalgic and highly entertaining.
