Built in the year 1507, as a defensive fort with the purpose of guarding the resources of Omani cities.
The fort was later reinforced by the Portuguese to become a fort to protect and guard the city and its centre.
Today you can enjoy, the historical architecture, the old cannons, Fort café and the view of Muttrah corniche.
