Victoria: A Royal Childhood Discover the story of Princess Victoria, the young girl destined to be queen, in the rooms where she was born and raised at Kensington Palace. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Victoria’s birth, this permanent exhibition explores how an indulged young princess blossomed into the independent and iconic monarch we remember. The display includes remarkable objects relating to Victoria's early years – including a poignant scrapbook of mementos created by her German governess, Baroness Lehzen, and Victoria's doll house. NEW: Victoria's Childhood Christmas (04 December 2024 - 05 January 2025) Experience the Christmas traditions of Princess Victoria Step into the home of Princess Victoria and experience the magical atmosphere of a Regency Christmas, brought back to life at Kensington Palace. Enter a world of flickering candles, theatrical festivities and Yuletide traditions. Take delight in special displays inspired by the Christmases that unfolded in the life and imagination of the future Queen Victoria. Along the way, you will discover how many of our favourite Christmas traditions can be traced back to Kensington Palace in the 1830s.
