Naseer Shamma in Dubai

On 29 November 2025, the internationally acclaimed Naseer Shamma will take the stage at the Dubai Opera. A world-renowned oud virtuoso and musical entrepreneur, Naseer Shamma has elevated Arabic instrumental music to global acclaim.

Shamma will perform alongside twelve standout soloists members of his Peace Builders ensemble, each bringing a distinct musical flavor to an evening that gently bridges cultures and fosters cohesion through finely woven sound.

He is known for profound compositions such as “Ishraq,” “Al-Amariya,” and “Baghdad Night.” Shamma continues to define the emotional depth and expressive power of the oud in contemporary music.

His career, decorated with over 70 international honors, began with the “Best Emotional Melody in Iraq” award upon his graduation, followed by consecutive honors from the Iraqi Artist Syndicate (1988–1990). Among his many accolades are “Best Artist in Iraq” (1994), the Royal British Academy Award (1998), and the Rotterdam Arab Festival Award, reflecting decades of global recognition.
